FAQ

Questions, answered

How CRS Pulse works, what it costs, and how your data is handled.

How accurate are the calculators?
They implement the official IRCC Comprehensive Ranking System grid and the published federal/provincial point grids (FSW 67-point, BC PNP SIRS, Saskatchewan SINP). They are precise estimates for planning — but IRCC’s own tool is authoritative, so always confirm your final score there before you act.
Is CRS Pulse free?
Yes. Every calculator, live draws, draw history, category trends and the application tracker are free with no account. The app is supported by small banner ads — there are no in-app purchases and no subscriptions.
Where does the draw data come from?
The app fetches rounds of invitations directly from IRCC’s public JSON feed, with pull-to-refresh and category filters. Each draw links to its official IRCC round page. Figures shown on this website are illustrative of the 2025–2026 season; always verify current numbers at canada.ca.
What happens to my personal data?
Your age, education, language scores and work history are stored only on your device. There is no account to create and no analytics tracker. If you enable draw alerts, only an anonymous push token is stored on the notification service — never your immigration data.
How do draw alerts work?
A background service checks for new rounds every 15 minutes. When IRCC publishes a draw, you get a push notification — usually within about 15 minutes — with the category, cutoff score and number of invitations. You can turn alerts on or off any time.
Do I need a job offer for Express Entry?
No. A valid job offer is not required for any of the three Express Entry programs. As of March 25, 2025, job offers no longer add CRS points, though they can still support certain category-based draws. Most invited candidates have no Canadian job offer.
What is a category-based draw?
Instead of inviting the highest overall CRS scores, IRCC can invite candidates who meet a specific priority — such as French-language proficiency or work in healthcare, trades or STEM. These draws often have much lower cutoffs than general rounds, so targeting a category can be a strong strategy.
Which platforms is the app on?
CRS Pulse is available on iPhone via the App Store, with a full English and French interface plus dark and light themes. The calculators on this website run right in your browser, no download required.
