    What each step means

    ITA
    Invitation to Apply. You have 60 days to submit your complete application.
    Application submitted
    Your e-APR is in and the fees are paid. IRCC’s processing time counts from here.
    AOR received
    Acknowledgement of Receipt: IRCC confirms your application is complete enough to process.
    Biometrics requested
    A Biometric Instruction Letter. You usually have 30 days to give fingerprints and a photo.
    Biometrics completed
    Fingerprints and photo given at a collection point.
    Medical requested
    IRCC asks for an immigration medical exam with a panel physician.
    Medical passed
    Your medical results are on file and show as passed.
    Passport requested
    Passport request (PPR): send your passport for the visa and COPR. Usually the last step for applicants outside Canada.
    Passport submitted
    Passport handed in at a visa application centre.
    Passport collected
    Passport back with your visa and COPR.
    ADR
    Additional Document Request: IRCC needs something more before it can continue.
    PR portal 1
    The PR confirmation portal asks you to confirm you are in Canada and your address.
    PR portal 2
    You upload a photo for your PR card; the eCOPR usually follows.
    Final decision
    Approval, your COPR, and the end of the wait.

    The order varies by file: medicals can come before AOR, and applicants inside Canada usually get the PR portal instead of a passport request. Your IRCC account is the source of truth. The app keeps this timeline on your phone with reminders.
